The program began at 16 pm (English official, 12 am in Argentina). After some minor technical problems the conference began at 16:40. The connection was extended for four hours continuously, but as usual in this type of meeting, time flies. This time the name of "international" acquired its full dimension, since the participants (31 in number) came from five countries: Spain, France, Argentina, Colombia and Uruguay.
Screenshot just started the session with Netviewer, showing the desk of Robert Vasconi. It welcomed the participants and presented the agenda of the day.

The general coordinator, Carlos Krawczenko, partner in Double Star Section of the LIADA , opened the session with an introduction to the double stars. Then, Carlos Lasgoity, acting as the presenter, gave way to the exhibitors. The conference program, in order of appearance, was as follows:
Rafael Benavides Palencia: Double Stars photometry with astrometric and Seals II.

Edgardo Rubén Masa Martin: extinction and interstellar reddening.

Florent Losse: speckle interferometry with Reduc.

Juan Luis Gonzalez Carballo: Project Overview SEDA-WDS.

Rafael Benavides gave a lecture very practical and very interesting. We demonstrated the accuracy of photometry obtained using the programs together and Seals II Astrometrica about our images of double stars. Rafael conducted a study on this question a few months ago and compare their results with the photometry of professional catalogs. On average, the difference between the two values \u200b\u200bis around 0.2 magnitudes, which is very good, considering that no photometric filters were used. The idea is to improve the photometric data of the WDS catalog, which often are wrong, inaccurate or missing. And all using an easy to implement and affordable for any amateur. The results of this study were published in the OED number 2.

As far as I'm concerned, I spoke about the importance of correcting the photometry for the effects of extinction and interstellar reddening, at the time of astrophysical studies of the components of double stars and and the tools we use in Section Doubles from LIADA for estimation.

in full fatigues. From time to time, my son Adrian surti me some refreshing snack.

As in June, also a translator I live during the conference Florent Losse, who left us dazzled everyone with the precision of speckle measures using the new version of NR that has been programmed. This software version was presented at the II INTERNATIONAL MEETING OF DOUBLE STAR OBSERVERS (Pro-Am), held in Sabadell in October. Notice that I'm working on the French translation of the manual for this new version will be available shortly.

Finally, Juan Luis Gonzalez Carballo, officially launched the Project SEDA-WDS our fellow southern hemisphere, with particular emphasis in the southern division of the project. Also, used to report new observational campaigns (Cancer borealis, Musca, southern) that will be released within days. In closing his speech, forward and scoop the summary of the number 6 OED we finalized and that will be available next January 6.

From here, I want to thank the coordinators for the great effort that everything went perfectly. Undoubtedly had a huge buzz in the "kitchen" for outside in the "restaurant", table cloth and dress lucieran. Thank you all.

Ultimately, an unforgettable evening in good company held under the framework of a common interest and full of good vibes. Here.

Why Do Dog Beds Smell Like Pine

DOUBLE STARS HAVE A FRIEND IN ARGENTINA ...

I have a friend in Argentina a few days ago has been a dream come true seeked. The dream that all the stars crave crazy one day achieve: a fixed place where one can share their secrets, face to face with the immensity of the night. Roberto Vasconi already reached that point ... Magic, I would say, which one is invaded by sensations never experienced, but no less anxious. And is that when one crosses the threshold is like stepping into a hidden dimension, in a sanctuary or sacred place, where the silence, the serenity, calm and is the birthplace of space and time.

Yes, I have a friend in Argentina that has finally started taking his robe and it is an autonomous member of that community to elect that when the night skies open up a window to spy on the stars. Welcome, friend Roberto. IO Astronomical Observatory, that the name from the November 27 resonates in Villa Allende, Córdoba Argentina on the same name. That day, the opening of the observatory, I had a horse between Spain and Argentina and that even though the distance. Perhaps because he has lived in my own flesh a few years ago, I spent the whole day thinking about my friend and his new observatory. Although not physically, then in essence, been there accompanying my wonderful colleague in his day. Excitement, enthusiasm, pride in how well done, to see finally materialized an idea, a project. The feelings are even more intense when you're the architect of the observatory itself, when the shape, size, mechanisms, which initially are just pure brain power, manage to break the three-dimensional environment that surrounds us, through the efforts , tenacity and strength of our hand, the work submitted. Surely my friend Roberto Vasconi and not remember those long hours spent at the workshop, uncertainties or difficulties that sometimes erupt on the road. The compensation of all these efforts has come, as I say, day 27 last month. This calendar does not fly leaf blown by the wind like chaff summer, on the contrary will be kept in a safe place where it is protected from oblivion, where it will yellow over time together with the guardian: heart of my friend Roberto.

The observatory's main telescope.

The dome stands proud on the construction of Villa Allende.

The opening, as is law should proceed in a company. It is an auspicious day to share with friends, more than usual, our joy. And for lunch and bring in harmony and fellowship with those who share our special way of seeing life. And of course, what better day to express our appreciation to wives, girlfriends, sisters, for your understanding and support? Kiss a sense of gratitude that comes from the soul.

They are important.

words of thanks from Robert Vasconi.

Did not I say? I have a friend in Argentina since its hemispheric space will share the dance of the double stars the tango is more torn. Roberto, my most emotional greetings. You're a big guy. far.
