Santiago de Compostela meets over the next two days at the most prominent professional doubles player in the world. The event has been named to Binaries Outide Inside and the Local Interstellar Bubble (International Workshop on Binaries) and can be considered as a continuation to another similar meeting held two years ago: 2009 Binary Workshop of Similarly organized by the Centre RM Aller. Besides the invited talks, this time other astronomers working in this area will also have the opportunity to present their current research. The Chairman of the Scientific Organizing Committee is none other than José Ángel Docobo Durántez, Director of the Observatory Ramón María Aller, President of the Commission 26 of the International Astronomical Union (double stars) ; and perhaps the most prestigious English professional doubles player. The conference is sponsored by the University of Santiago de Compostela and the Ministry of Science and Innovation.
The list of participants is to discover a selection of the most famous double star astronomers worldwide, until I dare say unrepeatable. Even go as guests Brian Mason and William Hartkopf on behalf of the USNO, as you know two living icons for us amateurs, and both are doing for the Pro-Am collaboration.
I have consulted the program interventions and is extremely interesting. So much so that until the last moment, my intention was to attend this meeting, if not with official registration, at least as a visitor. Unfortunately, as I did with the meeting of Sabadell, my work obligations prevent me from doing it again. A real shame but it is what has not devoted to astronomy full time. Even with Brian Mason had mentioned my intention to attend and we talked about that would be a very good chance to know personally. Anyway, at least it is the notion that having great are a few miles and they are living two incredible days. Here.
