This weekend has been an important event related to the double stars. Organized by the Astronomical Association of Sabadell and Garraf Astronomical Observatory, was held in Sabadell II Meeting of Double Stars Observers (Pro-Am) . The meeting brought together twenty experts in double stars from Catalonia, France and England. As an addition, it was expected that Brian Mason himself from Washington, to intervene through videoconferencing, but ultimately the virtual connection has taken place. However, the organizers have received a written contribution from Dr Mason, which has been read in one session. The program of papers and contributions have been extremely interesting and varied. They have released a lot of work and cutting-edge projects in the field of double stars that are currently developing both amateur and professional.

Unfortunately, I was unable to go to Barcelona to attend the conference. If I'm honest, I've been all weekend circling the subject, it was a wonderful chance to meet in person with great friends and fellow Europeans with whom I maintain a regular relationship. Despite my natural frustration, I had the opportunity to get me in some ways the thorn that stuck was: Today, a little before 14:30, got a call from my partner Novalbos Ignacio, who has spoken in Meeting with the contribution entitled Image Reduction Methods and Their Influence on the Theta / Rho Measures. I emphasize that made me look forward to talking to him and tell me first hand, and with a great deal of euphoria, of course, his impressions of the meeting of doubles player. Thanks Nacho!. To make matters worse, it has been since my French colleague to your Florent Losse . During We exchanged a few moments touching words, and that despite my clumsiness today to speak French has become much more apparent than usual. Even so, we have understood perfectly. Florent has given a presentation ( Interferometry with mid-sized amateur telescope, why not? ) and made the official presentation of its new version of NR. The software we all use to measure double stars is now able to exploit the speckle interferometry technique with great efficiency and speed. With this new and elaborate version are wide open and promising horizons for amateurs and will be a revolution. Time. In the manual will be available shortly in Castilian, as usual translate from French in collaboration with Florent.

would not elaborate any further. I think it is fair that those who have been lucky enough to attend tell us about their experience because they are the true protagonists. Be aware, for sure Ignacio Novalbos that makes us an excellent review on his blog full of pictures and comments and succulent shades. Well, just forward and scoop it appears that this meeting will be from now on a biennial basis (remember that first edition was held in 2000 in Castelldefels). Excellent news, indeed. We will have to do everything possible to go to France in the next edition. Here.
