At this point in the function one is sure that the things he does makes for pure pleasure is a matter of personal delight. The enjoyment is immense, pure passion, without more, the sensations in a space framed addictive, dark night, same paragraph, where a baby is the star to lose consciousness. And the drunken-long I know, "always with me. There is no possibility of returning to "normal" but I assume, with integrity, everyone lives their life as it was served. One does not pursue flowers or clapping or reward, has more than enough to indulge desired.
However, on rare occasions our business, and beyond disclosed, and even refereed and assessed by outsiders. Obviously, I will not deny it, praise or recognition are things that are pleasing and are the ideal stimulus to face new business with renewed vigor. Valiéndome the theatrical metaphor with which I began I would say that, after the applause, the comic is already thinking about the next performance, to give it all back and as visionary by the mere desire to excel in bet heavily on unpublished scripts where they could act out the roles to the point believe them and make them yours. So relentless, every night, takes the magical ritual: makeup, props, characterization ... Is everything ready? Top The curtain then.
These reflections are collating a few days ago the critics were kind to my last show (read here: my latest article published in JDSO double stars). By private communication I received a letter signed by Brian D. Mason, WDS catalog administrator, who congratulated me for this work and let me know that my measures were added to the catalog. Another objective was to update the movements of the components of STI peer through consultation via the catalog UCAC3 Aladin (and in his absence the PPMX / PPMXL). I have checked with satisfaction that all the values \u200b\u200bthat I included in my last job have also been added to WDS. Have a notion of the proper motions will help to assess first the nature of double stars of Stein. So in the next series of steps, to complete STI catalog, I will make this task equally, although it is somewhat laborious, it seems very interesting.
Regarding the fate of the two pairs that I proposed as new discoveries, Mason also told me that MRI 5BC your email already exists in the WDS OL code 199AB. At first glance it might seem like an oversight on my part and may also have acted tachárseme too lightly or lack of rigor. But everything has a logical explanation and is unacceptable. Let's see. When one detects a pair of stars may constitute a new discovery, the immediate passage (in its most literal sense) is to consult the catalog to see if the couple is listed by another observer or, conversely, the list does not exist any pair in the position. And, of course, so I did. In the reduction of the images used 2008 version of WDS for March 2009. In it, STI 216 and OL 199 were listed as two independent and unrelated to the identifiers WDS01274 WDS01274 +5955 and +5956 respectively. On the other part, I have the healthy habit of asking the USNO archive file of measures for each of the double stars I measure or study. This helps me to check the trend of the measures over time and, at the time, I can evaluate the quality of each of the measures carried out CCD. When I received the file of the measures of STI 216 did not indicate any other major component, so obviously I decided to go ahead with the study of the new component C that appeared registered in my images.
of curiosity, I delved into the history of OL 199 in a very rewarding activity detective (this is a facet of double stars that I love: its history). ADS Consulting found that OL 199 was discovered by Charles P. Olivier in 1928 with the 66 cm refractor of the Leander McCormick Observatory the University of Virginia. The discovery of this and other 16 pairs were printed in the Astronomische Nachrichten 233, (AN) the year of 1928 and the title of Measures of 357 Double Stars.
On page 411-412 is listed as (taken photographically) of what became OL 199.
Indeed, although shown as separate systems, STI OL 216 and 199 share one of its components and, therefore, should have been classified as a triple system, but it seems that neither Olivier or catalogers then realized this fact. And so the two couples have coexisted over the years.
During the reduction of my images, the subsequent writing of my article and the subsequent wait until the publication in JDSO, the error was detected that I said and proceeded to update the identifiers to record that are members of a three component system. Although I have no certainty, I am inclined to think that in fact the case was revealed following the presentation of my MRI 5BC. In any case, if the WDS now consult on the newest version found that STI 216 has been renamed STI 216AC, while 199 is now OL OL 199AB and both pairs look the same code on the catalog index: WDS 01274 +5955. The reason for this is that renewed nomenclature has also been corrected Investment quadrants observed in STI216: the former component B is clearly more brilliant than the A. For this reason, and rightly, now the leading pair of the system has become OL 199, on the other hand, is most interesting as I indicated in my article that his own movement seem to share components.
In any case, I am satisfied because the MRI failed 5BC has served to confirm my certain criteria when selecting a new pair likely to be classified and, of course, to debug the WDS, and has an error less. Cases such as this and other natures are widely varied and is another useful task that can play, besides being tremendously entertaining.
As MRI 6, my other nominee, now it has been included in the WDS catalog all of the law. Here I show you entering the Catalog Index:
frantic few days I've been measuring my images of 2009, there is a good choice and I would remove them in the next issue of OED. If I have no choice: As the bolero, "theater, life is pure theater ..." . Here.
